Discover Leo's Chinese Restaurant, a beloved neighborhood spot located at 105C Town and Country Dr, Danville, CA 94526, United States. As a food blogger who frequently explores local dining experiences across California, I was eager to visit Leo's Chinese Restaurant in Danville—often praised as one of the best restaurants in Danville for reliable, flavorful Chinese cuisine served in a welcoming setting.
Leo's Chinese Restaurant offers a well-rounded menu rooted in classic Chinese-American favorites, with subtle influences from traditional Cantonese cooking. The menu is extensive, featuring everything from appetizers and soups to hearty noodle dishes, stir-fries, and family-style combination plates. Prices are moderate, with most entrées ranging from $12 to $20, making it an accessible option for both casual lunches and relaxed dinners. Portions are generous, which adds strong value compared to similar local dining experiences in the area.
What makes Leo's Chinese Restaurant stand out is its consistency and attention to flavor balance. The Orange Chicken is a standout dish—crispy, golden pieces coated in a tangy, slightly sweet citrus glaze that avoids being overly sugary. The Mongolian Beef is another favorite, featuring tender slices of beef stir-fried with green onions in a rich, savory sauce that delivers depth without heaviness. For something comforting, the Shrimp Fried Rice is expertly prepared with plump shrimp, fluffy rice, and just the right amount of seasoning, making it both satisfying and well-balanced.
Customer reviews frequently highlight both food quality and dependable service. One diner shared, “Leo's Chinese Restaurant in Danville never disappoints—fresh food, quick service, and great portions.” Another review noted, “This is our go-to spot for Chinese takeout—everything tastes authentic and consistently delicious.” These testimonials reflect the restaurant’s strong local following and reputation for reliability.
The space at Leo's Chinese Restaurant is clean, casual, and inviting. The decor leans toward traditional Chinese elements, with subtle red and gold accents, comfortable seating, and a relaxed layout that suits families, couples, and small groups. While not overly modern, the ambiance feels warm and familiar—perfect for a laid-back dining experience.
Amenities include dine-in, takeout, and efficient service that caters well to busy schedules. The restaurant is family-friendly and offers a variety of dishes that can accommodate different preferences, including vegetarian options. A thoughtful touch is their lunch specials, which provide excellent value for those looking for a quick yet satisfying midday meal.
One limitation is that the menu focuses primarily on familiar Chinese-American classics rather than more adventurous regional specialties. However, this focus contributes to its strength—executing popular dishes with consistency and care.
For anyone seeking dependable and flavorful Chinese cuisine, Leo's Chinese Restaurant stands out among the best restaurants in Danville. Whether you’re craving a comforting plate of fried rice or a bold, savory entrée, Leo's Chinese Restaurant in Danville offers a satisfying experience that keeps guests coming back.

“ I have been to a bunch of Chinese restaurants in the area, but I always keep coming back to Leo's. The food is just better here, and some of the best Chinese cuisine you'll find in the East Bay. The unassuming family-run restaurant is rather small, but the service is excellent, and the food is always fresh and flavorful. And they are very agreeable to modifying a dish to suit your taste. The menu is large and features some unique dishes. The tangerine beef was a perfect combination of sweet, tangy, and crispy... almost like eating candy. And the dried cooked green beans are a regular favorite for me, crunchy and flavorful. They have a full bar and wine list too. Always a good meal here. ”
“ So good! This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. The fried dishes are thin a crispy not too heavy on the badder. Serves is very accommodating. ”

“ WoW nice family owned Chinese restaurant!.. Clean authentic tasting. Reasonably priced and the food came out fresh and hot. Definitely delicious.. I grew up in the SF Oakland area. ate at many Chinese restaurants.. This is by far equal to if not better. The honey walnut prawns are right on not full of mayonnaise but just the right amount of nice glaze. The basil fish was not fishy tasting but nice fresh and tender white fish.. Thumbs up for this establishment!! Try it you won't be sorry with great service!.. Leo the owner greets his customers with a smile. ”
